Karibu sana!

The word SECT stands for “Support Education for Children in Tanzania, a non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 2015 by Ritha A. Mmbaga and Enighenja S. Mshana. The primary objective of SECT is to support children living under extreme poverty with various basic education needs like stationery and uniforms.

But upon continuing supporting the poor children who are mostly under primary level of education, the founders of SECT realized that there are a lot of children in the area who have not been able to get access of education because of different family problems poverty being among the factor. Some cannot even afford a single meal at home, some are under vulnerable environment with very little care in the community they are living, some have become street children due to some difficulties facing their families, some are orphan etc.

Because of all these factors, the founders of SECT came up with the idea of establishing a children centre to keep all the children they identify living under extreme poverty and vulnerable environment. They therefore establish “RAFIKI CHILDREN CENTRE" which is operating under the umbrella of SECT to support orphans and children who live in difficult life with basic human needs like food, shelter, education, Clothes and healthcare.

Rafiki is a Swahili word which means "a friend". The centre is operating in Same district in Kilimanjaro Region – Tanzania. The centre has a total number of 13 children up to now, 8 girls and 5 boys of the age between 4 years and 16 years.
